Greetings Franciscan Alumni!
The Franciscan Alumni Association is pleased to announce that our 2025 Reunion will take place in Cincinnati, Ohio, from October 2nd through October 5th. We had such a great time in Cincinnati during our 2024 Reunion we decided to return!
Just like last year, the planning committee has put together a very diverse program of activities and events. In addition to our traditional observances, we will be participating in a celebration of Transitus, have an opportunity to participate in a retreat on the “Franciscan Spirituality of Beauty”, and have a chance to visit with the Franciscan Friars in residence at the former St. Francis Seminary. More information is available available in this Summers FAA Newsletter and the periodic email updates we will send out in the months to come.
We hope to see you at the Reunion in October!

Please help us plan our reunion by providing us with your plans for the reunion. Registering and selecting some of the events does not mean you must attend, it just gives us an idea of what to expect.
Our 2025 FAA Reunion Registration Form is a PDF file that you can either:
– Completing the information by typing it in, saving the form, and then emailing it to us at [email protected], or

Schedule of Events
Please note that dates, times, and events are subject to change. We will host a registration and hospitality table at the hotel, with handouts containing the most recent information.
Thursday, October 2nd
4:00 pm – FAA registration and hospitality table opens at the Springhill Suites by Marriott.
6:00 pm – 10:00 pm – Dinner and social at The Black Sheep Public House, 3807 North Bend Road, Cheviot, OH. Attendees will be responsible for their own dining and beverage expenses.
Friday, October 3rd
6:30 am – 9:30 am – Complimentary breakfast at the hotel for those who are staying there.
7:30 am – 7:45 am – Morning Prayer at the hotel for those wishing to attend. Location at the hotel will be specified in the packet you’ll receive when checking in.
11:00 am – BB Riverboat Tour with lunch ($41.00 per person) for those who wish to join us.
Other Morning and Afternoon Options – The Freedom Center, Findley Market, Reds Hall of Fame, Wiedemann Brewery, and St. Mary Cemetery where several friars are buried.
7:00 pm – Transitus Service followed by refreshments and fellowship at Corpus Christi Church, 2014 Springdale Road, Cincinnati, Ohio. We plan to have an alumni and friar choir like last year… exactly like last year. If you can, your are invited to help with this again. Fr. Larry Dunham ’65, Fr. Fred Link ’61, and Mike Niklas ’75 will recruit singers soon.
Saturday, October 4th
7:00 am – 10:00 am – Complimentary breakfast at the hotel for those who are staying there.
7:30 am – 7:45 am – Morning Prayer at the hotel for those wishing to attend. Location at the hotel will be specified in the packet you’ll receive when checking in.
9:30 am – 11:00 am – Morning Retreat: “Franciscan Spirituality of Beauty,” with insights from St. Bonaventure and John Duns Scotus, in the chapel of the former St. Francis Seminary
11:30 am – $10.00 lunch buffet in the Study Hall of the former St. Francis Seminary.
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm – Optional Activity: Assist the Garden Guild at StoneBridge at Winton Woods with a planned project on the former seminary grounds. Meet at the parking lot by the back door of the gym building at 1:00 pm.
Afternoon – Feel free to tour the campus, hike, socialize, play, or relax on the grounds of the former St. Francis Seminary.
5:00 pm – Mass in the former St. Francis Seminary Chapel, followed by a group photo shoot in Chapel. Please remain in the chapel for the group photo!
6:00 pm-ish – Dinner in the Study Hall ($25.00 per person), followed by a brief FAA Chapter meeting, presentation of FAA Awards, and a Remembrance Service for FAA members who have died during the past year.
Sunday, October 5th
7:00 am – 10:00 am – Complimentary breakfast at the hotel for those who are staying there.
7:30 am – 7:45 am – Morning Prayer at the hotel for those wishing to attend. Location at the hotel will be specified in the packet you’ll receive when checking in.
9:30 am or whenever – Farewell!
Where to Stay
A group rate has been arranged with Springhill Suites by Marriott, 12001 Chase Plaza Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45240. The group name is: Franciscan Alumni Reunion. Breakfast, parking, and WiFi are included in the rate. The rates are good for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Reservations must be made by September 2, 2025, to secure the group rates.
The room rates are:
One King Bed – $134.00 per night plus tax.
Two Queen Beds – $139.00 per night plus tax.
